Upload your own floor plan: PDF or image to an editable plan

Bring an existing floor plan into Maket to edit, refine, design, and visualize.

Already have a floor plan? Upload it and Maket turns it into a fully editable plan, instead of generating one from scratch.

💡 Uploading a plan is available on paid plans.

Before you upload

  1. Residential plans only. Maket works with homes — houses, apartment units and condo units.

  2. File types: PDF, JPG or PNG, up to 20MB.

  3. Multi-floor homes: upload a multi-page PDF and choose which pages to include, one per floor.

  4. Credits: each upload uses 20 credits per floor, the same as generating a plan. A two-floor upload uses 40.

Uploading your plan

  1. On the Home page, click Upload your floor plan.

  2. Choose your file.

  3. If you've uploaded a multi-page PDF, select the pages you want to include.

  4. Follow the steps in the chat.

While Maket reads your plan

You'll see a progress panel showing which step it's on, and the walls and rooms it recognizes drawn over your uploaded plan as they're found.

The editor stays locked while this runs. When it finishes, your plan opens on the canvas.

If your plan has errors, get recognition assistance

Automatic recognition is a first pass, and it doesn't always get every detail right.

If yours comes back with errors, Maket will offer recognition assistance: a person corrects it for you.

  • It's included in your paid plan, there's no extra charge

  • Your plan comes back properly drawn and completely to scale

  • You'll usually have it back within 24 hours

When it's ready, you'll get an email and a message in your chat with us, with a link straight to the finished plan.

On Pro plan, every plan goes to a person

You don't have to wait to be offered it, or check the result first. Every floor plan you upload on a Pro plan is reviewed and redrawn by a human, every time. If you're uploading plans regularly, that's the reason to be on Pro.

When your plan is ready, you'll get an email and a message in your chat with us, with a link straight to the finished plan.

Taking it into CAD

Once your plan is editable, you can export it as DXF, which AutoCAD and most CAD tools open. That's how you turn a PDF or JPG floor plan into a CAD file. Learn more about converting existing floor plans.
